Je reviens du site Ohmygibs : Ah non mais là je m’insurge. Gibs ! Ne laisse pas les critiques te démonter. Tu vaux mieux que ça. Il faut pas se laisser abattre par les propos des uns et des autres. Pourquoi leur accordes-tu autant de crédit ? Pourquoi cherches-tu à leur répondre un par un ? Laisse-les dire, qu’est ce que tu en as à fiche ? Les chiens aboient, la caravane passe. While I very much appreciate Mr Gibs’ game creating ability I find him to be a rather unsavory character when it comes to his personal values. What he wrote on his blog (which he has now deleted) about EAB member Akira was simply disgusting hate speech, shaming personal attacks certainly has no place in the World let alone in the Amiga community.

I anticipated Mr Gibs would delete what he called « a joke » so I will save you wondering what he wrote as I saved a copy in screen shots here:

As a game coder myself I know I have a lot of support and respect from everyone here at Amiga France, so please be aware that this is not aimed at this forum. I just wanted to give you the full picture of his misgivings for you to consider before you start wishing him back.

Si l’on reprend la chronologie des événements, c’est Akira qui a déterré un topic et lancé les premières attaques personnelles gratuitement. Certes la réponse a été « no border ».

Thanks for posting the screen captures, I have removed them because I sincerely don’t wanted to hurt him (akira) and at least it proves that I haven’t insulted mods like it has been said by BippyM on EAB.

If you put in the balance, the fact that he starts to insult me : « dickhead » + « piece of shit » written in a public board with a big audience and my answer where I’m just laughing  at him (without insulting him) in a small blog… damn!

Don’t worry, I have seen all your peaks on EAB. I have just ignored you. You were there like a little boy waiting your turn to have an answer from me on my blog but… I answer who I want to answer.
Seriously, do you have insulted me because you wanted an answer ?

Why people are talking about me on EAB ?

Do you think you are the boss of the Amiga community and the Amiga community is only EAB ?

First off … about balance, if someone calls you a « dickhead », « piece of shit », tells you to « fuck off » or calls you a « horrible bastard » it does not warrant you launching a personal attack on them ( finding pictures of them, body shaming them and making references to their marital status).

Perhaps your humor differs from every one else because that sort of content people don’t find funny to laugh at which is why you’ve attracted my attention.

For the record:

A) Yes Steril is my friend, as is BippyM – I’ve had many beers with them at Amiga events. I have no idea why this is relevant.

B) I don’t care who you work with because that’s none of my business.

C) I don’t really care if you participate in the Amiga community, I’d prefer it if you did stick to development and discussing things with people in a nice manner.

D) No, I’m not the Boss of the Amiga community, I don’t make the rules. But I do have a voice in it and I like to improve it. I have certainly helped dispatch a few others in recent years who were a stain on the Amiga.

E) I didn’t threaten you on EAB but just so I understand what you are saying correctly. You want me to get your phone number so I can call you when I get to Paris, you can then come and see me, for what purpose exactly?

You should have said : « if someone insult you (dickhead, piece of shit, etc…) , it does not warrant you launching a personal attack on them »
« Dickhead » sounds a personnal attack to me. In French it means « tête de bite » and the head is a part of the body.

I’m 100% agree with you.

But how can you discuss things with people in a nice manner when insults are flying from nowhere. ex « dickhead », « piece of shit » ? To this you add oil to the fire calling me an ‘horrible bastard’ ?
I think I have been really smart so far. Even my email to RCK was really fine. I have seen people got banned quickly from EAB without having said the half of these insults. I would have seen you what you would have done in my place…

E) You stood up for Akira who has started to insult me and you have insulted me publicaly.  I haven’t seen you condemn his threat « this is the kinda guy who seems to badly need to get his shit beaten to a pulp ». I understood I was hidding behind a keyboard. So I gave you my number (in PM). So if you come in Paris, for example at a retrogaming convention, and you want to insult me like you did, but in a better way, like a man with personnal values, then you can call me.

There are levels of insult and levels of retribution, I’ve been called a « dickhead » many times which have often been warranted on reflection of my actions. Instead of sending the guy a private message saying something like « I know we’ve had our differences in the past, let’s move on so can you please delete the dickhead reference on your post on the EAB », you’ve instead went full on attack and double downed with a huge personal attack on the guy – completely out of proportion to the initial insult as you put it.

I don’t condone Akira’s actions either of physical threats, but then he hasn’t found pictures of you, body shamed you and compared you to an insect and posted them publicly … Can you see the difference?

Thanks for your phone number, I’ll pass it on for you if you really want me to or … here’s a suggestion for a way forward.

Why don’t you take down all the posts on your blog related to this incident on the EAB (the ones in September 29th), I’ll ask the mods at the EAB to remove the thread referenced to the insults, and then I ‘ ll remove the links to the screen shots I took on my site? This way everyone saves face and we can all get back to doing what we do best.

A ce stade on ne parle plus de désaccord, mais de la manipulation: C’est malsain !
On m’attaque, on m’insulte sur EAB alors que je ne suis plus membre depuis 7 ans. J’ai donc répondu au travers de mon blog.  D’après ce que dit mcgeezer, il fallu que j’envoie un message privé à la personne qui m’aurait insulté pour arranger les choses. Oui mais comment ? je n’ai pas de compte.

Donc, j’ai répondu au travers de mon blog.
Comme dans le flot d’insultes il y avait « tête de bite », je me suis moqué de la tête de la personne qui m’insultait (Akira). Visiblement, je l’ai blessé. Donc depuis j’ai retiré le post. mcgeezer,  a anticipé cela et a fait des captures écrans. Mcgeezer  ne s’est pas dit un moment que je les avait retiré tout simplement pour ne pas le blesser ? d’ailleurs s’il veut que je remette ses capture sur mon blog, je peux les remettre.
Ma réponse, je l’assume à 100% d’autant plus qu’à l’inverse d’être des insultes de haine comme celles qui ont été proférées à mon insu et gratuitement c’était plutôt une moquerie.
mcgeezer dit plus haut que c’est moi qui considère ça comme une moquerie, mais que c’est plus grave que les insultes qu’à proféré Akira sur moi. Déjà je ne suis pas d’accord puisque Akira lui même considère celà comme d’un niveau de maternelle.
Suite à ça, j’ai décidé de quitter ce monde… cette communauté.
En effet, on ne se comprends pas. Pourquoi continuer ? Ca ne rime à rien.
Vous le voyez bien, encore on me met la faute dessus, alors que je ne suis pas l’initiateur de ce bordel.

J’ai donc mis un message pour dire que je me retirais et que je m’excusais auprès de tous ceux (sans exception) que j’aurais blessé.

Sans exception, ça veut dire tout le monde y compris Akira dernièrement.
C’est bien ce que vous comprenez j’espère.

Bon et bien suite à ce message « d’adieu », mcgeezer s’est félicité de mon départ, en disant que finalement j’avais trouvé du sens et que le batard que j’étais pouvait  aller me faire enculer ailleurs :)

A noter que jusque là je ne m’étais jamais adressé à lui (mcgeezer) auparavant :) Je ne comprends pas comment après un tel message on puisse venir me faire la morale et m’expliquer comment j’aurais du agir.

Après, il y a tous ces experts de mon ban sur EAB, tous ces intervenants historiques qui n’hésitent pas à laisser entendre que j’aurais commis quelque chose de dingue sur EAB.
Or il se trouve que mon ban avait un rapport avec le créateur d’AmigaFrance :) Donc il est bien placé pour s’en souvenir. Et d’après mes souvenirs, Je n’ai jamais insulté quelqu’un sur la board EAB.
Comme je savais que j’allais me faire ban, j’ai fait des captures écrans que j’ai toujours d’ailleurs.
Rien de dingue comme veut le laisser entendre BippyM.

D’ailleurs je fais une parenthèse, RCK m’a répondu et nous avons échangés 3 messages. On aurait pu en échanger d’avantage, mais clairement, il m’a dit qu’il n’y allait plus sur EAB, et m’a demandé de contacter un Moderateur. J’ai très bien vu que je le dérangeais pour des conneries,  je l’ai remercié et dit au revoir. Il est alors revenu vers moi pour me demander les messages qui me dérangeaient pour les effacer et pour rappeler à Akira de ne plus m’insulter (comme il l’avait déjà fait il y a 7 ans).  A la place, je lui ai dit de laisser tomber.
Alors vous voyez, les modérateurs qui se la racontent (comme BippyM) c’est ridicule. Je lui aurait même demandé de m’enlever le ban, qu’il l’aurait fait tellement il s’en bat les couilles

En gros, pour revenir à ce que je disais plus haut, j’assume ma réponse à 100%, pour moi ce n’est pas plus grave que la personne qui m’a insulté gratuitement alors qu’il n’était même pas concerné.
Je suis comme ça, je suis quelqu’un qui répond.

mcgeezer, est du genre à se faire insulter dans la rue et ne répondra pas.
c’est ce qu’il essaye de me faire comprendre plus haut.
Ce n’est pas mon cas… du tout.

Donc on est pas pareil, c’est clair et cette mentalité ne me ressemble pas.
Je trouve d’autant plus culoté que c’est ce genre de personne qui vient ensuite vous faire la morale.

You know full well you could contact Akira as you have provided me with your phone number to forward to him.  The rest of your response is mere drama.

I’ll pick a couple of points to respond to though.

The words I used on the EAB were « …looks like the horrible bastard has found some sense and fucked off elsewhere« .  This means that you have simply gone somewhere else, there is no sexual interpretation here which you have implied I have said.  I have not said « get your ass fucked », there is a twisting of words you are trying to use here.  And for the record I stand by my analysis of you because of what you wrote on your blog.  In this day and age you can’t go around Cyber bullying which in effect is what you did to another member of the Amiga community, if you do – you get people like me who also exist in the community responding to it.

And you’re right Mr Gibs, I may not respond to insults in the street, it really all depends on who I’m with at the time and where I am at the time but why is this relevant for you I wonder?

I’m not sure what it’s like In France but here In England people don’t tend to throw insults at each other in the street unless they fully deserve it which sort of adds up why you probably get insulted a lot.

You come across as quite angry Mr. Gibs with an inability to hold your emotions, instead of taking an offer to deescalate a situation you’ll reinforce how hard done by you are and seek sympathy via your blog and cancel your development work. I can only conclude that you appear to like this sort of drama which is why you are still here.

There’s really not much more to add in this thread, if you want to continue the discussion I’m happy to over private message and then perhaps email.
